i met David while we were both students at Cal Poly. we were both involved with Cru, we were both musicians, and both enjoyed using our giftings for something bigger than ourselves. we've kept in contact and have been fans of each other's work, so when David asked me to be a part of his monthly blog series, i didn't hesitate to say yes! we met up in San Francisco, took photos, walked through a 3.85 million dollar mansion we both wished we could own, walked all over Hayes Valley and Lower Haight, and ended our time with a great conversation at one of my favorite places in the city, The Grove Yerba Buena. super grateful to have other creative friends and for David wanting me to be a part of this project! anyway, enough from me, i'll let him take it from here :) click on the photo below!

so surreal seeing your creative work out there in the world after spending hours and hours recording, listening, tweaking, and polishing to get it just right. i'm really proud of this song and watching it grow from just a chorus idea into a full on produced/mixed/mastered version was so much fun.

i wrote this song as an answer to the question "if all of my fears, doubts, and insecurities became a person standing in front of me, what would i say?" the beauty of music is you can interpret lyrics however you'd like (it could be the perfect kiss off song to a horrible boss or your ex...just sayin...), but in the end i hope you feel empowered and encouraged to never let fear hold you back from chasing after a dream. you're enough. you're worth it. you have what it takes. now get out there and go for it! :)

Had a great time opening up for McHugh & Devine at Joe's Garage in San Mateo, CA! Even had a mini Voice reunion with the first friend I ever made through the whole process and fellow #TeamGwen original member Tim Atlas!
